GENERAL WARRANTY FOR ALUMINUM AND COPPER-BRASS PRODUCTS

C, G & J, Inc. warrants its products to be free from defects in material and workmanship for 12 months from date of shipment to the original consumer purchaser. This warranty covers any parts furnished from C, G & J’s manufacturing facility but does not include labor of any kind and materials not furnished by C, G & J, Inc. or any charges for any such labor or materials.

The limited warranty is void if the product is subjected to misuse, negligence, or operating conditions other than those for which such equipment was designed, or has been repaired or altered outside the manufacturing facility of C, G & J or when chemicals or any ingredients other than approved permanent-type antifreeze, designed and sold solely for radiator use, are used in the radiator. This warranty does not cover physical or chemical effects of any corrosive substances in the operating environment or the equipment. This warranty is extended to and enforceable by only the original purchaser.

C, G & J, INC’S WARRANTY OF ITS PRODUCTS TO BE FREE FROM ALL DEFECTS IN MATERIAL AND WORKMANSHIP, AS LIMITED HEREIN, AND SHALL BE IN LIEU OF AND EXCLUSIVE OF ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE.

Claims for internal engine damage due to overheating will be denied. All vehicles and stationary equipment have warning lights and gauges to warn an operator of overheating conditions long before internal engine damage would occur. C, G & J, Inc. shall not be responsible for engine damage due to operator negligence.

Purchaser’s sole remedy for breach of this warranty, exclusive of all other remedies provided by law, shall be limited to repair or replacement of any part or parts which shall, within 12 months from date of shipment to the original consumer purchaser, be returned to the place of original purchases or to the Warranty Dept. of C, G & J, Inc., with all transportation expenses prepaid by purchaser, and which the examination by C, G & J or its designated agent, shall disclose to have been defective. Purchaser’s remedy does not include reimbursement for any expenses incurred for labor or material charges incident to the replacement, removal or installation of any radiator, radiator core or component part, towing charges, rental of replacement vehicle, injuries to persons or property and any other special, incidental, consequential or punitive damages. An original/installation receipt is required to file a warranty claim.

CHARGE AIR COOLER WARRANTY

C, G, & J Inc warranties its Charge Air Cooler product to be free from any defects in materials or workmanship for a period of one (1) year from the date purchased. The warranty does not cover labor or any other expense incurred due to the failure of the C, G, & J Inc product. Any damage caused by improper installation or adjustment, accidents, modification to the engine, cooler or chassis, salt corrosion, road damage, turbo failure, stress or misuse is not covered. Broken brackets or cracked tanks are not covered under this warranty. C, G, & J Inc does not provide any other warranty in relation to any liability in relation to any property or injury (including death) to any person (including customer) or any loss, cost expense or lost opportunity suffered or incurred by any person (including customer) directly or indirectly relating to or arising out of any use of any C, G, & J Inc product. This warranty does not authorize any customer or entity to act on behalf of C, G, & J Inc. in regards to any warranty settlement. If during the warranty period a Charge Air Cooler is found to be defective, C, G, & J Inc will at C, G, & J Inc’s discretion repair or replace the cooler.

CORE WARRANTY

C, G, & J Inc warranties core-only orders for a period of thirty (30) days from the date purchased for material defects only due to the lack of control of the application and installation of the cores.  C, G, & J Inc does not guarantee core-only orders to be 100% leak-free because the core is bench tested. If a core-only order has a potential warrantable issue, C, G, & J Inc will require the core and tanks to be returned for inspection, repair/replace, and welding.  After inspection, if it’s determined the core is free from defects and the welds are causing the leak, the customer will be responsible for the incoming freight, outgoing freight, and current labor rate for C, G, & J Inc to repair.

RADIATOR WARRANTY

Most radiators are enclosed with a ground wire that must be attached to your metal framework to help eliminate electrolysis. If the ground wire is not attached the warranty is voided. Any signs of Electrolysis or Rust VOID ALL WARRANTIES. C, G, & J Inc warranties its Radiator product to be free from any defects in materials or workmanship for a period of one (1) year from the date purchased. The warranty does not cover labor or any other expense incurred due to the failure of the C, G, & J Inc product. Any damage caused by improper installation or adjustment, accidents, modification to the engine, cooler or chassis, salt corrosion, road damage, stress or misuse is not covered. In all aluminum radiators it is required that a 50/50 Pre-Mix or a 50/50 mix of distilled water and antifreeze must be used. It is found that tap water due to the chemical content can cause premature failure of all aluminum radiators. Not following the recommended formula will void the warranty on all aluminum radiators. This warranty does not authorize any customer or entity to act on behalf of C, G, & J Inc in regards to any warranty settlement. If during the warranty period a radiator is found to be defective, C, G, & J Inc will at C, G, & J Inc’s discretion repair or replace the radiator.

OIL COOLER WARRANTY

C, G, & J Inc warranties its Oil Cooler product to be free from any defects in materials or workmanship for a period of one (1) year from the date purchased. This warranty does not authorize any customer or entity to act on behalf of C, G, & J Inc in regards to any warranty settlement. If during the warranty period an Oil Cooler is found to be defective, C, G, & J Inc will at C, G, & J Inc’s discretion repair or replace the cooler.

What issues can void my warranty?

While we have no wish to void anyone’s warranty, there are certain situations that cause damage to the products and results in premature product failure through no fault of the product’s materials or construction. These issues include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Improper Installation – Failure to properly install the product will void the warranty. This can include failing to use any required replacement grommets, forcing the product to fit (we manufacture everything according to OEM specs, so fit should not be a problem), mounting the product to the vehicle in a way for which it was not designed (example: drilling additional mounting holes that results in damage/weakening of the mounting brace), stripping threads, etc.
  • Failure to Flush Old Coolant or Using Improper Mix of Antifreeze/Distilled Water – When you replace your radiator, you must replace the coolant. The old coolant can carry particulates that can damage the new radiator. This is especially true if you do not replace your coolant regularly since the protective additives in the coolant breakdown over time. Also, using just water as your coolant will damage your radiator as will using tap water instead of distilled water. You should always replace the coolant with a 50/50 mix of distilled water and antifreeze and only use new coolant in a new radiator.
  • Physical Damage, Obvious Abuse, or Improper Maintenance – If your product is damaged in shipping you should tell the delivery person that you are “refusing delivery due to damage.” This will help us get a claim filed with the shipping company, get you a replacement, and keep your warranty active. Occasionally a product can be damaged in the box with no obvious sign of damage to the box itself. This is called “concealed damage,” and you must inform us right away. The shipping company will usually want to inspect the damage, so please leave everything as is to make the claim process as smooth as possible. (Shipping damage is not covered by your warranty but is covered by our agreements with the shipping company. Always contact us immediately if you notice damage from shipping.) That said, if the product is damaged due to mishandling, improper maintenance (such as replacing coolant/oil), damaged due to a collision, etc., this will void the warranty.
  • Too Much Pressure in System – An over-pressurized system will cause damage to the tubes (known as ballooning) and possibly tanks. Over pressurization can be caused by using the wrong radiator cap on a radiator or a blockage in another part of the system (not limited just to radiators).
  • Improper Accessory Installation – Improper installation of accessories such as fans can void your warranty if it results in damage to the product. Fans and shrouds should never attach directly to the product’s core as the fins/tubes are not designed to support the weight. Attaching any wiring or other items directly to the unit can also result in damage that will void your warranty.
